Q. How does Stretch Therapy work? A. Mastering safe and efficient stretches releases joint stiffness and muscular tension.
Q. Is Stretch Therapy like yoga? A. While yoga is an activity that combines physical exercise with relaxation techniques, Stretch Therapy applies the Contract-Relax (PNF) technique, a more advanced form of flexibility training that involves both the stretching and contracting of the muscle group being targeted.
Q. What is PNF? A. Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation – was originally developed as a form of rehabilitation, and it is very effective to help you gain long term functional flexibility. It is safely used to also improve muscular strength in the end range of movement.

What can I expect from the Upper Body workshop?
Upper Body is a fun, informative workshop. Participants will review proper alignment and anatomy, learn many partial poses and partner-assisted stretches for the upper body.
The approach will increase the suppleness and strength of your neck, shoulders and back to reduce the likelihood of injury to these areas.

Warm-up for upper body Posture and alignment Review of anatomy of neck, shoulder, arm and torso muscles
Learn partial poses and partner-assisted exercises for:
Neck Upper and mid trapezius, levator scapulae, scalene, sub-occipitals, paravertabrals
Shoulders Rotator cuff: supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor, subscapularis, pectoralis major and minor, deltoids
Torso Latissimus dorsii, teres major, serratus anterior, rhomboids, core muscles: transversus abdominis, obliques,
Arm Forearm and Hands Biceps brachii, brachioradialis, flexors and extensors of the hands and fingers.
